Ramla Mural launch

Our mural will be launched on July the 1st. It is a collaboration between a group of young people who sought to use their voices to centre the achievements of global-majority women. British-Somali Boxing Sensation and East End Resident Ramla Ali, is muralised in a public art piece off Bethnal Green Road at the heart of the East End, uplifting the multiple identities she occupies and celebrating the beautiful tapestry of diversity in the East End.

The mural, a symbol of community and culture, is a gift to the local community. We will also be screening a supporting film capturing the spirit of the East End, exploring symbols of the past, present and future and the DIY process of local co-creation employed in Mural making. This will be followed by a Q&A with Ramla Ali and the creators of the Mural where the audience can find out more about the project.
